Santander, BT and Odeon go barmy for Bond ahead of the Spectre premiere
Is it just us, or did London’s businesses bulk-buy thousands of tickets to the new Bond film next week and call it a “corporate event”? Private screenings are being held all over London by companies to celebrate the release of Spectre, with some firms jostling for space in the capital on the same night.
Monday will be a big day for fans of 007 across the city. While bankers at Santander are heading to the One
Aldwych Hotel for its own private screening of the film, complete with obligatory drinks and canapes, cinema giant Odeon is hosting a glittering event at the company’s Leicester Square branch.
According to Odeon, “this is an opportunity to meet the Odeon team in an informal environment”, which just so happens to also involve drinks at Asia de Cuba and seeing the new film. Sneaky.
BT is also getting in on the act, booking the swish May Fair Hotel for its own private Bond party a week today, although with added post-film drinks so staff can perfect their martini order.
Meanwhile in Canary Wharf, a competition has just been launched to track down seven sharp-suited workers who are actually called James Bond.
While most of the Wharf’s financiers could rival 007 in the style department, a lucky six who share his name have a chance to win tickets to Canary Wharf’s Everyman Cinema, with a bonus prize for the seventh (yes, actual 007). If your name is James Bond, tweet @YourCanaryWharf with the hashtag #mynamesbond. Free stuff!
