Samsung to launch three-sided display phone
Next year Samsung plans to launch a smartphone with a three-sided display, according to reports by Bloomberg. The phone will be designed so messages, emails and possibly share prices and notifications, can be read from any angle. The new handset will use an upgraded version of its Youm series of flexible OLED screens. Each side of the of the display is to be operated independently.
According to Bloomberg, the new smartphone could go on sale as soon as the second half of next year. Last month Samsung launched the Galaxy Round, the world's first smartphone with a curved display, measuring 5.7-inches. The South Korean company is in fierce competition with Apple, which reportedly plans two new iPhones with larger displays and curved glass screens, to be released in the second half of 2014.
