IN-RUNNING TRADING HINTS
Betdaq are only charging 2% commission on all winning bets placed in-running during all UK and Irish races, so make sure you log on and trade your positions at Aintree this afternoon and tomorrow.
Looking ahead at tomorrow’s Grand National and knowing a horse’s running style is one thing, knowing how he will travel in a 40-runner cavalry charge is a completely different proposition. That said, there are a number of horses I can see holding prominent positions from the off who may trade a good deal shorter in-running. Black Apalachi, Snowy Morning and State Of Play are three leading contenders who shouldn’t be too far away from the pace. The first named in particular opened up a clear lead 12 months ago and will trade really short if repeating that front-running trick again.
Last year’s winner Mon Mome is likely to trade at a bigger price in-running as he may well get shuffled back early. However, that may be the time to reach for the ‘back’ button as there aren’t too many guaranteed stayers like him in the field.
Looking at this afternoon’s racing and Menorah looks a potentially terrific lay in-running if not getting the strong pace and cover he needs to be seen at his best. In the Topham Chase (3.45pm), it may pay to back Frankie Figg before the off at around 20.0 and then look to lay him back in-running when he gets in a nice rhythm up front.
