RSM Tenon hires chief exec for turnaround
STRUGGLING accountancy firm RSM Tenon, which last month issued a profit warning, has appointed a permanent chief executive to lead it through a strategic review.
Chris Merry, a former chief executive of broker Matrix Group, will join RSM with immediate effect, replacing incumbent interim Adrian Martin, who will become non-executive chairman.
Merry led Matrix for three years from 2007, having previously been finance director and CEO of executive search firm Whitehead Mann. He started his career at PwC, where he was managing partner of the accountancy firm’s Shanghai office.
RSM has been seeking a new boss since its former chairman and chief executive Bob Morton and Andy Raynor stepped down as the profit warning was announced last month.
The company is carrying out a strategic review and plans to update investors at the end of this month, when it will also report its results for the six months to 31 December.
“Whilst RSM Tenon is undoubtedly going through a challenging period, there is a strong underlying business and a solid platform for the future,” Merry said yesterday.
