Royal Baby named: Charlotte Elizabeth Diana is the latest member of the monarchy
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their baby Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, a Kensington Palace statement has confirmed.
Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, as she will now be known, was born early on Saturday morning weighing 8lbs 3oz. It had been reported that her parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine, had not wished to publically name her until she had been introduced to the Queen at their Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
Prince George, Charlotte's older brother, was also named two days after being born. However, unlike her sibling, she is not directly in line to inherit the throne.
