Princess Charlotte christening: Royal baby gets City godparents Adam Middleton and Thomas van Straubenzee
Godparents are an important part of any child’s life; shaping their world view and interests. Based on the list of godparents appointed to Princess Charlotte at her christening yesterday, she could be looking at a career in finance in a few years’ time.
The Princess, christened at St Mary Magdalene church in Norfolk yesterday, will be getting sound advice in everything from banking to property.
Godfather Adam Middleton, Kate’s cousin, works at legal firm Manchester Square Partners in Mayfair, offering advice to business leaders. Then there’s family friend Thomas van Straubenzee. The 33-year-old is co-founder and director of Mayfair property agency VanHan – selling luxurious pads to luxurious people.
And let’s not forget the Honourable Laura Jane Fellowes. Although Fellowes, niece to Diana Spencer, isn’t a City worker herself, husband Nick Pettman is a director at brokers Peel Hunt. It’s never too early to start thinking about these things.
