Rolls-Royce tops list of best British brands
AN independent industry survey has named the UK’s top ten business-to-business brands, with engineering company Rolls-Royce knocking Microsoft off the top spot to take first place.
Either Microsoft or Google has held the number one position since 2007, but they slipped this year to third and fourth position respectively.
Technology still dominated the list, with Blackberry smartphones climbing one spot to take second place and Apple, the only new entry in the Superbrand top 10, entering straight into the fifth position.
The remainder of the top 10 Business Superbrands for 2011 include the London Stock Exchange, accountancy and consulting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers, GlaxoSmithKline, Visa and Bosch.
UK airlines Virgin Atlantic and British Airways both recorded significant drops, falling into 14th and 48th place respectively from last year’s top 10.
The annual Business Superbrands league table is compiled by a panel of experts at The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA), with input from over 2,000 professionals from across the UK. Brands are assessed on their quality, reliability and distinction.
