Robert Hanson takes on chairmanship at Strand
ROBERT Hanson, son of the renowned late industrialist Lord Hanson, has agreed to become chairman of investment banking boutique Strand Partners, in which he has taken a 10 per cent stake.
Strand Partners has now been renamed Strand Hanson to mark the involvement of Hanson, who set up investment firm Hanson Capital after resigning from the industrial conglomerate founded by his father following its demerger in 1997.
The pairing will allow Strand to expand its influence in Asia, where Hanson has a particularly strong contact base. He previously worked at NM Rothschild in Hong Kong and for Hanson Westhouse in the Pacific.
“It was clear the two teams complement each other both in terms of skill sets and cultures,” said Strand chief executive Simon Raggett.
