Rightmove moves to add school Ofsted ratings and catchment areas to all property listings
Nine in ten parents in London say they consider the quality of local state schools when deciding where to move, according to a new survey from property website Rightmove.
Eighty-four per cent of parents surveyed told Rightmove they would consider moving to be near a good school. More than a third of Londoners without children surveyed also said they would think about moving to be near better schools.
The property website found similar results when polling nationally and, as a result, said yesterday it would add new school information to each property listing.
Each listing on the website now displays catchment areas, as well as the latest Ofsted rating for schools.
James Micklethwait, Rightmove’s head of product development, said yesterday: “This is the first stage of enhancing the schools information on Rightmove, and we’ll be building on it further in the coming months.”
