Richard Branson calls for bike-only streets
Richard Branson has called for whole streets in cities to be closed for all vehicles but bikes – a comment guaranteed to set the lycra brigade against drivers everywhere.

Some cities are famously bike friendly – Copenhagen’s layout, for example, is designed with cyclists in mind. Yet even the Danish capital stops short of banning cars altogether. London is a long way from having bike only streets, even its cycle superhighways have come under criticism for being dangerous.
In the tweet, Branson linked to an article he’d penned suggesting electric bikes as a way of all ages cycling together.
