Returning Bopara hopes he’ll be back for 10 years
RECALLED England batsman Ravi Bopara hopes his return from the international wilderness won’t prove to be a short lived affair.
Bopara hasn’t represented his country since the third Test of the 2009 Ashes series at Headingley a match in which he was dismissed for nought and one.
Prior to that series he had been billed as England’s brightest emerging talent on the back of three consecutive centuries against the West Indies.
Things haven’t quite gone to scrip since, but Bopara hopes his return will prompt 10 years of unbroken international service.
He said: ”We all have goals and in the back of my mind I’d love to play 10 years for England because that’s where you want to prove yourself.
“I think I’m a more rounded player now, I know my game a little bit more – it’s amazing what you can learn about yourself in two years.”=
