Resounding hit for London’s biggest art fair
The biggest London Frieze Art Fair ever was in full swing this weekend, with 175 galleries packed into Regent’s Park and a separate Frieze Masters event featuring 96 galleries showcasing works from across the last 4,000 years. Organisers say they wanted to bridge the gap between contemporary collectors and those interested in older works, with many buyers interested in snapping up art across the spectrum.
London was also host to spin-off events across the capital, designed to lure the world’s wealthiest buyers, with auctions, rival fairs, parties, gallery openings, exhibitions and discreet viewings all taking place.
Famous faces including Tracey Emin, who was showcasing her work, were spotted at the events, which have been hailed as a resounding success.
The art fair, which wrapped up yesterday, is the biggest of its kind in the UK.
