I’VE got three rides today and I’m on TELL US MORE in the Supreme Novices’ (1.30). He got beat in the Grade One at Naas in early January and we’re stepping back in trip today. I don’t think that will be a problem for him, he’s got a bit of class and he should run into the money.
Douvan might be a bit short in the betting but he’s looked really good so far. They clearly like him very much and you have to respect him. He’s the one we all have to beat.
I’ll be riding CLARCAM to get placed in the Arkle (2.05) because if Un De Sceaux stays on his feet nothing will get within 10 lengths of him I’d say. There are a few very small holes you can pick in him, but Willie Mullins wouldn’t be sending him over if he didn’t think he could cope with the atmosphere. He looks a certainty bar a fall really.
I like Clarcam a lot though. He beat Vautour comfortably in the Racing Post Novice Chase and he was running really well when he fell at Cheltenham last year. He’s got a great each-way chance.
My final ride is on GALLANT OSCAR in the Ultima Handicap Chase (2.40). He’s one of Tony Martin’s in a handicap, he’s been kept fresh for this and I think Tony quite fancies him.
The ground was too tacky for him in the Thyestes. The better ground at Cheltenham should suit and he must have a good each-way chance.
