I’VE got another good book of rides today and hopefully we can get into the winner’s enclosure again. VALSEUR LIDO takes his chance in the JLT Chase (1.30) and I’d be pretty confident that he can reverse the form with Apache Stronghold from last time. That was his first run for a while and he has come on plenty for it. He travelled over nicely and is in very good form, but whether he’s good enough to beat Vautour we’ll have to see.
EDEYMI has a lovely racing weight in the Pertemps (2.05). This race has been mapped out for him for a long time and he’s fit and well.
I’m not worried about the ground for DON COSSACK in the Ryanair Chase (2.40pm), he’s won on all types. He also travelled over great and has been in excellent form all season. He fell at the Festival last year, but every horse is entitled to fall once and he goes there with a good chance.
Any winner at Cheltenham means a lot, but obviously it would be wonderful to win the World Hurdle (3.20) for the Hughes family with LIEUTENANT COLONEL. This is a wide open race and there are loads in there with a chance. I’m happy with my lad, we’re putting the cheekpieces on for the first time just so he concentrates a bit more.
My final ride is MAKE A TRACK in the Plate (4.00pm) and his form hasn’t been ideal this season. He’s entitled to run into a place if bouncing back, but he’d need a lot to go his way.
