QPR M’Vila swoop could pave way for Mbia to join Chelsea
CHELSEA could make a surprise move for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia, if the Premier League’s basement club succeed in luring France and Rennes star Yann M’Vila.
Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has made public his interest in M’Vila, who is available this month for a cut-price £10m and is also thought to be wanted by west London rivals Fulham.
His arrival could pave the way for Mbia to join Chelsea, according to reports in France, despite the 26-year-old Cameroon international only arriving at Loftus Road in August.
The former Marseille player is said to have impressed the Blues, who are short of defensive midfielders, although any deal would not take place until the end of the season.
Newcastle are poised to complete the £10m signing of Marseille and France striker Loic Remy, after the Ligue 1 club confirmed a deal had been agreed in principle.
Remy, 26, would mitigate the £7m departure of Demba Ba to Chelsea earlier this month.
