Prudential appoints Just Eat chair ahead of demerger
The UK's largest listed insurer Prudential has hired Just Eat chairman Mike Evans ahead of the demerger of its life insurance and asset management unit, M&G Prudential.
Evans brings more than 36 years of experience in the savings and investments sector to the role, having previously worked as chairman of stockbroker and financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown and chief executive of Skandia.
He will stay on as chairman of Just Eat, but has stepped back from his role on the board of Chesnara to focus his attention on Prudential.
The appointment comes ahead of M&G Prudential demerging from Prudential to become a separately listed company.
Evans said:
This is an exciting time to be joining M&G Prudential, which is a strong business with lots of opportunities for growth in the UK and international savings and investment markets. I look forward to working with John and his team as we become an independent business.
Paul Manduca, chairman of Prudential, added: "I am pleased that Mike Evans has joined M&G Prudential as chair. His extensive boardroom experience and track record with UK listed businesses will be great assets during the demerger and when M&G Prudential becomes an independent company."
