Prior: We won’t be letting South Africa off the hook
MATT PRIOR insists England will be going for the jugular as they look to secure an impressive one-day series victory over South Africa.
England’s victory in Port Elizabeth last Friday means they can now not lose the series with the final day-nighter taking place at Kingsmead tomorrow.
But wicketkeeper Prior insists there will be no negativity to England’s approach and is confident the tourists can wrap up the series in style.
“The way the team is building and moving forward is hugely positive,” the Sussex man said. “We go into Friday full of confidence.
“It’s going to be a very, very exciting game. But we also know that the South Africans will come out fighting They will be very, very determined – wanting to make sure we don’t win the series – so we have to be prepared for that.
“The importance of winning after a win is huge, and that’s something we all want to start doing – and Friday is a good opportunity for us to do that.”
South Africa, meanwhile have included injury doubt Jacques Kallis and four uncapped players in a 15-man squad for the first Test against England on 16 December.
All-rounder Kallis has sat out the one-day series with a fractured a rib but could be named as a specialist batsman at Centurion.
Fast bowlers Wayne Parnell and Friedel de Wet, plus Ryan McLaren and Alviro Petersen, are yet to make their Test debuts.
