Pound falls to two-month low against the dollar after poll finds 10-point lead for Brexit
The pound has dropped to a two-month low against the dollar after a new EU referendum poll showed a 10-point lead for Leave over Remain.
A survey of 2,000 people by ORB for the Independent found a 55 per cent backing for Brexit and 45 per cent support for staying in the EU.

The figures were weighted to take account of likelihood to vote. Without this weighting, Leave was on 53 per cent and Remain on 47 per cent.
The online poll was carried out on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
ORB also found that 78 per cent of those backing a Brexit will definitely vote, versus 66 per cent of Remainers.

Meanwhile, though, the poll found 52 per cent of those surveyed predicted Remain would win the referendum.
Before the poll results were published yesterday evening the pound was trading at 1.43446 against the dollar. This morning, this has dropped to 1.42550, the lowest it has been since April.
