Policewoman killed in second shooting in Paris as country mourns Charlie Hebdo dead
A second shooting has taken place in Paris, in which a female police officer has died.
Another person is said to be critically hurt after the attack took place in Montrouge, a southwestern suburb in the French capital.
According to the AP, the officer was investigating a traffic incident in the early hours of this morning when a gunman opened fire, hitting her and a street sweeper.
According to French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve, the attacker escaped and is still at large.
The city is on its highest alert after yesterday's shooting at satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, in which 12 people were killed.
Two of the three suspects are still at large, though authorities have cautioned against drawing any connection between the two incidents as yet.
The Charlie Hebdo suspects have been named as brothers Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi, said to be in their 30s. A third suspect, Hamyd Mourad, turned himself in overnight after reportedly seeing his name on social media.
