Police launch investigations into fatal stabbings in Shepherds Bush and Wood Green
Police have launched murder investigations after there were two fatal stabbing in the capital within hours of one another in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to Shepherds Bush at 2.40am after a man, believed to be 28-years old was found suffering from stab wounds on Askew Road. The man has not been formally identified.
In what is Police said was an entirely separate incident, 33-year old Vincent Harvey was stabbed outside the Jolly Anglers pub in Wood Green. Police were alerted to the incident at 3.20am.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, are investigating both episodes.
In relation to the Wood Green incident, Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh said:
"It has been established there was a large number of people in and around the Jolly Anglers pub at the time Vincent was stabbed.
"It is vital that anyone who saw this incident, or the events leading up to the incident, get in contact with police.
"While work continues to piece together Vincent's movements prior to his murder, I would directly appeal witnesses to come forward and speak to officers – you may hold invaluable information to assist us in this investigation."
