Police call on Gurkha victims of suspected £50m CWM FX Ponzi scheme
The City of London police will this morning launch an appeal for members of the Gurkha and Nepalese community to come forward if they have invested in what is believed to be a £50m Ponzi scheme.
Last year, City A.M. first reported that police had raised the offices of CWM in the Heron Tower, arresting 13 people.
"The evidence suggests that representatives of CWM targeted hundreds of members of the Gurkha and Nepalese community and then exploited them in order to defraud millions of pounds," said detective chief inspector Dave Manley.

CWM became the official online forex trading partner of Chelsea Football Club at the beginning of 2015 as part of a spate of glamorous marketing deals aimed at various sports. But the club ripped up its agreement in March – although there was no suggestion of wrongdoing connected with the agreement between CWM and Chelsea.
