Pictures: Husky delivery service trialled in the City
After Winter deliveries have been disrupted by adverse weather in previous years, same day courier CitySprint is now trialling a novel new delivery method in the City – packages via sled dog team.
Trained huskies have been used in London today in an attempt to see if they could help minimise disruption caused by extreme weather conditions.
Retailers should prepare for the best Christmas sales since before the crisis, according to Verdict research, with online sales expected to reach £11.6bn, a 12 per cent rise on last year.
Verdict expect a "Mad Monday" on 23 December as customers use retailers' online click-and-collect services to pick up late online orders.
CitySprint hope that their huskies could mean that no presents arrive late in London, whatever the weather.
