Philip Green’s wife Tina paid £50m by Topshop administrators
Tina Green, the wife of former retail tycoon Philip Green, received £50m in May from Topshop’s administration.
The £50m was lent to Topshop as part of an emergency restructuring in 2019 and secured against a warehouse in Northamptonshire.
In the wake of the collapse of parent company Arcadia, the space was sold for £83m, the Telegraph first reported, and is now being leased by online retailer Boohoo.
Green’s payday comes as pensioners and smaller suppliers wait for their share from the administration.
Earlier this year Asos bought brands Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge and HIIT brands from Arcadia, which fell into administration in December.
At the time, it was reported that Green’s family would make £50m from the sale.
