Petra Diamonds expands audit committee with new director
MINING company Petra Diamonds has welcomed Octavia Matloa as a non-executive director of the firm, and appointed her to its audit committee.
Matloa, 38, is a chartered accountant and has worked with PwC, as well as founding Tsidkenu Chartered Accountants and Mukundi Mining Resources.
According to Petra, which owns five mines in South Africa, she brings “extensive financial and audit experience to the company, as well as knowledge of the mining sector and the South African business environment”.
Adonis Pouroulis, chairman of Petra, commented: “Octavia’s broad business experience and financial and audit background will further enhance the skill set of our board. She will also be a valuable addition to our audit committee, which serves a very important role at Petra.”
