Petition to unseat Dominic Grieve reaches 10,000 signatures ahead of Plan B amendment
A petition calling for the deselection of MP Dominic Grieve has reached 10,000 signatures amid claims he is trying to “overturn” Brexit through an amendment to May's Brexit deal.
The online petition calling on the Tory party to unseat Grieve, launched seven months ago, has seen a surge in support amid a parliamentary deadlock over Brexit.

Over the weekend it emerged Grieve will table an amendment to the Prime Minister's plan B Brexit deal that would allow a cross-party group of 300 MPs to trigger a vote on suspending Article 50.
The amendment would grant MPs control over parliamentary business for a day, which critics say could plunge the country into constitutional crisis.
“Dominic Grieve MP does not represent his constituents and does not adhere to the manifesto on which he stood,” the petition reads.
“He seeks to further his own beliefs and has attempted to derail the Brexit process and negotiations.”
The surge in signatures comes amid growing criticism of former attorney general Grieve and other Remain-supporting MPs.
Tory MP and Leave supported Nigel Evans yesterday told City A.M. his Remainer colleagues were using “every tool in the box to frustrate the government and overturn the referendum”.
“This is politicians versus the people and it will not end well for the politicians,” he said.

May will today table her plan B motion, which will be debated and voted upon tomorrow.
The government responds to petitions with 10,000 signatures, but 100,000 signatures are usually required for the matter to be debated in parliament.
