Peppa Pig brings home the bacon for FTSE 250 company Entertainment One as revenue rises
Entertainment One (eOne), the Canadian company responsible for distributing blockbuster series Twilight and the Hunger Games, reported revenues were up one per cent in yesterday’s trading update.
Primary school favourite Peppa Pig, bought home the bacon for eOne’s TV operations – revenues in the unit were up by 32 per cent.
While performance was largely in line with expectations, the film division saw earnings drop nine per cent and box office takings down at $64m (£41.7m) from $72m, in line with 30 fewer releases than in 2014.
The FTSE 250 company said the strengthening of the pound had hit its revenues.
Investors were not impressed – shares closed down 5.18 per cent.
