Peaty breaks British record
ENGLAND’S Adam Peaty set a new British 100m breaststroke record during the opening session of the World Short Course Championships in Doha, Qatar yesterday.
The 19-year-old posted a time of 57.02 seconds in his heat to shave half a second off the previous best time set by Michael Jamieson.
Peaty won double gold at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and is the current holder of the 50m breaststroke long course world record.
