Pandora rings up strong sales in UK
DANISH jewellery brand Pandora said UK sales jumped by a third in the second quarter, as consumers snapped up its charm bracelets, rings and necklaces. The group, which was led until recently by former Asda boss Allan Leighton, said group revenue increased by 41.4 per cent to DKK 3.6bn, thanks to strong growth in the Americas and in Europe. In the UK, where it now has 169 stores, sales rose by 31.2 per cent fuelled by strong demand for its rings, which now account for a fifth of sales. Pandora’s European president Peter A Andersen, said: “We have seen the ongoing growth of the brand within the UK particularly, a key market for Pandora, and one in which we have successfully increased sales and revenue figures.”
