FASHION STILLS AT SOFITEL ST JAMES
In honour of Fashion Week, Sofitel St James’s is hosting a photo exhibition, a poignant vision of the fashion world through the lenses of famous fashion snappers who have captured unique instants from the secretive world of haute couture, including behind the scenes shots at Dior, Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Yves St Laurent. They’re for sale, too. Until 21 March, 6 Waterloo Place, SW1Y 4AN, tel: 020 7747 2200.
THE JOYS OF PIE WEEK
Tom and Ed Martin, behind such gastro-pub favourites as The Gun in Docklands and the Avalon in Clapham are embracing national pie week. For £10 you can sample such delights as wild rabbit, cider and smoked langoustine, wild boar and black pudding, and winter root vegetables and pearl barley pie. Not to be missed. 1-7 March. See www.etmgroup.co.uk for all locations.
REALLY OLD, LIKE 45, AT THE NATIONAL
Despite its name, Tamsin Oglesby’s new play is actually both funny and poignant, lambasting our age-defying, anti-elderly society. As a government body seeks to deal with the problems of a maturing population, a multi-generation family addresses its own as the sinister world of state care encroaches on them. Until 27 Mar, tickets £10-31. Cottlesloe Theatre, South Bank, SE1 9PX, tel: 020 7452 3000.
