Online sales boosts Domino’s
Pizza delivery giant Domino’s today posted a 5.1 per cent jump in UK like-for-like sales, boosted by a 40 per cent increase in online sales over the third quarter.
Domino’s, which operates in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Switzerland, said online sales hit £62.8m over the quarter to reach £184.9m for the year to date. Mobile sales also rose, up 46.9 per cent year on year.
Its store expansion programme is on track, with 34 new stores opened in the UK so far this year. Domino’s added it is on track to open 60 new stores by the end of 2012.
Lane Batchelor, chief executive of Domino’s, said he was confident the company could meet its forecasts by the end of the year.
