O’Shea shrugs off Quins’ eight try Euro romp
HARLEQUINS boss Conor O’Shea is refusing to get carried away despite the Aviva Premiership champions extending their unbeaten European run with an eight-try demolition of Zebre on Saturday.
Two penalty tries, a double from Sam Smith and scores from Nick Easter, Matt Hopper, Rob Buchanan and Ben Botica saw Quins down Zebre 57-14 for a third Heineken Cup victory of the season.
“When we lose games we don’t get carried away, and it’s the same when we win,” said O’Shea. “It’s about being in with a shout come May. You can do an unprofessional job and cause yourself problems which eventually come home to roost.”
Ronan O’Gara out-kicked Owen Farrell as Munster beat Saracens 15-9, while in the Amlin Challenge Cup Freddie Burns grabbed 24 points as Gloucester won 29-22 at London Irish. Wasps drew with Bayonne while London Welsh lost at Grenoble.
