Now Donald Trump has been rejected…. by North Korea
Donald Trump is getting used to having politicians around the world reject him.
Not only has he ruffled feathers at City Hall for his comments about Muslims (in the form of both Boris Johnson and his successor Sadiq Khan) now it seems he can't even catch a break in North Korea.
The Republican Presidential hopeful had proposed that he meet the country's leader Kim Jong-un – but this has been dismissed as a "kind of propaganda or advertisement" in his election race by a senior North Korean official.
And they know what they're talking about.
"It is up to the decision of my Supreme Leader whether he decides to meet or not, but I think [Trump's] idea or talk is nonsense," So Se Pyong, North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, told Reuters.
"It's for utilisation of the presidential election, that's all. A kind of a propaganda or advertisement," he said. "This is useless, just a gesture for the presidential election."
"There is no meaning, no sincerity," So added.
The two countries have not engaged since 2012, when North Korea promised to stop testing nuclear devices in return for food aid, but talks were disbanded.
The country has tested a number of nuclear tests and in March of this year said it had been able to create a warhead small enough to fit on ballistic missiles.
