Norwich feel fans support Hughton axe
THE MAJORITY of Norwich fans back the decision to replace manager Chris Hughton with youth team coach Neil Adams, according to chief executive David McNally.
The Canaries relieved Hughton of his duties on Sunday with the club 17th in the Premier League and five points clear of the relegation zone with five matches to play.
Some fans threw missiles in Hughton’s direction at the end of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to West Brom at Carrow Road.
McNally said: “The media have said we are bonkers, but a lot of Norwich supporters have been encouraging us to make this decision. We are only here for two things, the football club and the supporters, we have to do everything we can as often as we can.
“We felt we were left with no choice. We had to do something to ensure we have the best possible chance of staying in this league.”
