New senior partner at SJ Berwin
Competition head Stephen Kon was yesterday named as the new senior partner at City law firm SJ Berwin, after winning a two-way partner vote. Kon, who has worked at the firm for 30 years, said he planned to focus on “integrating the firm’s international practices” over his three-year term. He also said he was looking forward to working with current managing partner Rob Day, who originally worked as Kon’s trainee at SJ Berwin. The pair have since formed a close working relationship advising clients such as Universal Music and Associated British Foods, which Kon said had contributed to a “joint vision” for the firm and would help them form a strong “single leadership team”.
