Officials will finish counting Conservative party postal votes on Monday, 22 July, the newspaper said.
The next day either Jeremy Hunt or Boris Johnson will be anointed the new Prime Minister.
They will visit the Queen and move into Number 10 Downing Street on Wednesday, 24 July, the Sun said.
Current Prime Minister Theresa May will remain in power for one last round of Prime Minister’s Questions, the Sun’s sources said.
May is yet to hold discussions with her potential successors to discuss the transition, but a senior Conservative source told the Sun she would agree to these timings.
“We’ll have a new leader on Tuesday July 23, and a new PM by the end of Wednesday afternoon, as long as Theresa is amenable to that, and nobody thinks she won’t be,” they said.
Tory chair Brandon Lewis is set to reveal the timetable for the end of the Tory leadership contest later today.
Hunt and Johnson are currently engaged in various hustings around the country as they vie for power.
Sky has cancelled a head-to-head debate between the candidates scheduled for tomorrow after Johnson refused to take part, however.
Instead Sky will invite Hunt and Johnson to a debate on 1 July.
It comes just hours after Hunt called Johnson a “coward” for dodging live TV debates.
“It is very disrespectful to say that you’re not going to appear in any head-to-head debates in the two weeks when (party members) can see you before they’ve actually voted,” Hunt added.
A filmed debate on ITV on 9 July will take place once Tory party members have already received their postal ballots.
