Netflix teams up with US streaming service Sirius XM to launch new comedy radio station
Netflix is teaming up with US broadcasting giant Sirius XM to launch a new a new radio channel airing clips from its stand-up comedy shows.
Netflix Is A Joke Radio will feature segments from the streaming services’ stand-up library, comedy talk shows and original radio programming, and will be aired through Sirius XM, which offers both satellite radio and online streaming.

The new channel, which will launch on 15 April, will feature comedy stars including Adam Sandler, Aziz Ansari and Ricky Gervais, Netflix said.
“Netflix Is A Joke Radio on Sirius XM will be an audio extension of our award winning stand-up comedy on Netflix,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos.
“We are thrilled to feature some of the greatest and funniest performers in the world with highlights from Netflix shows as well as original programming that further celebrates the art of comedy, and we are excited to do this in partnership with Sirius XM.”
The new channel will also roll out an original daily show, recorded in its Los Angeles studio, featuring celebrity guests and comedians.

The deal marks Netflix’s first venture into radio programming. It is also the first time the company has made its content available on another streaming service.
“Netflix has established itself as the unrivalled video source for stand-up, attracting the biggest names in the industry as well as break-out newcomers, and we're eager to deliver Sirius XM subscribers access to their star-studded library, new specials, and original live shows,” said Scott Greenstein, president and chief content officer at Sirius XM.
