Nearly three in four people say chancellor George Osborne is not up to the job of Prime Minister after Budget
Nearly three in four people think chancellor George Osborne is not up to the job of Prime Minister, according to new YouGov figures out today.
In just the latest post-Budget blow for the chancellor, YouGov found that only eight per cent of people think Osborne would be a good fit for replacing Prime Minister David Cameron.
The proportion of people who think Osborne is doing a good job as chancellor also fell after last week's Budget, to just 17 per cent.
A mere 13 per cent of people surveyed said they think it is "likely" Osborne will take the keys to Downing Street.
YouGov conducted the poll for the Times newspaper.
Meanwhile, in a separate disappointment for Osborne this morning, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported that the government borrowed more than expected last month, taking total borrowing for the financial year to date (April 2015 to February 2016) to £70.7bn.
Osborne is set to address MPs in the House of Commons about the Budget later today.
