MPs launch finance education group
THE first all-party political group (APPG) in support of financial education for young people will be launched today, with more than 100 MPs expected to pledge their support for financial education to be on the UK curriculum.
The group, set up by Conservative MP Justin Tomlinson and launched with the Personal Finance Education Group and Martin Lewis, aims to provide a forum to discuss how education can be provided to UK students.
Speaking to City A.M., Martin Lewis said it was brilliant that the APPG had so much interest.
“Few people disagree that financial education is important but it’s hard to make it compulsory,” he said. “But 100 MPs aren’t easy to ignore.”
