Moyes fears Sociedad strength but hopes United seal progress
MANCHESTER United manager David Moyes has called on his players to extend their winning run to five matches against Real Sociedad tonight and seal qualification for the Champions League knockout stages.
A 1-0 victory over Sociedad at Old Trafford last month began their current run of four straight wins in all competitions.
Moyes has called on his players to deliver three points tonight at the Anoeta Stadium but is wary of the threat Sociedad can pose.
“I certainly won’t take anything for granted,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for Sociedad and we will have to play well on Tuesday if we are going to get those 10 points which will get us over the line.
“We have got ourselves in a good position in the group and we have to try to maintain that.”
Striker Danny Welbeck could return for United having missed Saturday’s win over Fulham with a knee injury.
However, midfielders Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley, plus defenders Jonny Evans and Rafael missed training yesterday through injury and are all unavailable.
