Most influential women named in finance list
SENIOR women from BlackRock, HSBC, Nasdaq OMX and JP Morgan have all been named in the annual FN100 Women 2013 – a list of the most influential female executives working in European financial markets.
The list, compiled by Financial News and released this morning, includes 10 chief executives, five chairmen, five chief operating officers and six women who run firms they founded.
Of the 100 women on the list, 40 work in regulation, while a quarter work for investment banks and half work in investment management.
Put together from a longlist of 350 nominees, the final 100 – who are not ranked individually – were whittled based on their influence and leadership, as well as their performances over the past year and achievements throughout their careers to date.
Zeina Bain, a London-based director at The Carlyle Group, Allegra Berman, global head of public sector banking at HSBC, Katharine Braddick, the director of prudential policy at the newly formed Prudential Regulation Authority and Karen Cook, president of Goldman Sachs Europe are all named on the list.
