More bad news for Ribery as Bayern star is banned from playing in the final
BAYERN Munich will have to cope without star turn Franck Ribery in the Champions League final after his ban was increased from one game to three.
The Frenchman missed Tuesday’s semi-final second leg in which Bayern eliminated Lyon after receiving a straight red card in the first match.
The German club had hoped Uefa would stick with a one-game suspension, but instead the governing body increased the punishment after a disciplinary meeting. Bayern have vowed to appeal, in the hope the France winger can play in Madrid on 22 May.
It is more bad news for Ribery, days after the married star was accused of having sex with an underage prostitute.
