Mercedes-Maybach has just unveiled a ridiculously plush, limited edition, £260,000 convertible
Thought convertibles couldn't get more luxurious? Think again: Mercedes-Maybach has just unveiled its first cabriolet, and it's ridiculously plush.
And so it should be: with a limited production run of 300 vehicles, the S 650 Cabriolet comes with a price tag of €300,000 – that's £260,000.
It's essentially an adaptation of the S-Class, but with a soft top, a lower line along the side, a new front bumper and "numerous" chrome highlights. Shiny.

With a six-litre V12 engine, the four-seater does 0-60pmh in 4.1 seconds – and is capable of reaching a top speed of 155 mph.
Meanwhile, the interior features much enthusiastic quilting, which Maybach reckons provides a "waterfall-like seat upholstery look". Naturally, it comes with optional extras as standard – including Swarovski headlamps, and "entrance lighting" which projects the Maybach logo on the floors when you open the door.
As if that wasn't enough, it also comes with an "exclusive travel luggage set" made by its Icons of Luxury brand. Because what's the point of splashing £260,000 on a car if you don't take it on a road trip?
