Men: get yourselves groomed for Autumn
B ROWN’S Hotel on Albermarle Street is a smart, debonair sort of a place and so is its spa, The Spa at Brown’s Hotel (www.roccofortecollection.com), which has launched a series of men’s treatments in conjunction with skincare brand NuBo. The Ultimate Performance System Facial (£100) takes in volcanic lava mud and something called a “moisture magnet”. For those in need of a quick sprucing up before hitting the town, the Black Tie Treatment (£70), a 40 minute facial, also involves a neck and shoulder massage and having your nails buffed and eyebrows tidied.
NYR Organic Day Spa (www.nealsyardremedies.com), the Kings Road specialist outlet of the Neal’s Yard Remedies skincare brand, has also launched men’s treatments for the first time. We like the sound of the revitalising men’s facial (£65 for 60 minutes), using bergamot, basil and coriander as well as a neck and chest massage.
Meanwhile, dedicated men’s grooming salons Gentlemen’s Tonic (Mayfair and Selfridges, www.genetlemenstonic.co.uk) and The Refinery (Mayfair and Harrods, www.the-refinery.com) both have new offerings for the Autumn. GT’s Autumn Uplift (£120) includes a facial, full body scrub and massage to flush out summer excess, while The Refinery is offering some “Early Bird” appointments for those needing to spruce up before work, opening for treatments at 8am for two mornings a week.
