Medals for Brit girls Jackson and Adlington
BRITISH pair Jo Jackson and Rebecca Adlington both scooped medals in the 400m freestyle but were pipped by Federica Pellegrini’s world record time at the World Championships in Italy.
Home favourite Pellegrini became the first woman to swim the distance in under four minutes – with a time of three minutes, 59.15 seconds.
Jackson set a new British record time to claim silver, while Olympic champion Adlington took bronze with a personal best time. Great Britain’s teams came seventh in the men’s and women’s 4x100m freestyle relay, while David Davies was eighth in the men’s 400m freestyle.
