McIlroy already worth £11m
US OPEN champion Rory McIlroy’s swift rise to the pinnacle of golf has swelled his fortune to £11m by the age of just 23, according to new research.
But he is still only the 12th wealthiest player in Britain and Ireland, with Sir Nick Faldo, who is worth an estimated £34m, the highest placed in the Sunday Times Sport Rich List 2012.
New England manager Roy Hodgson has amassed £11m, although that is peanuts compared to the richest boss, Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson, who has £32m.
Currently unemployed Roy Keane, with £29m, is second, while Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger is third with £26m. Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp has £12m.
