McCarthy and Stone profit up
Retirement homebuilder McCarthy and Stone yesterday reported a surge in profits as the rising tide of ageing Brits continues to elevate demand.
It posted a pre-tax profit of £32m for the half year ending 28 February, 76 per cent higher than the previous year. With new sites, sales outlets, and a land pipeline of 9,459 plots, McCarthy and Stone reports that it is “on track” to double in size over the medium term, predicting yearly unit sales of more than 3,000.
