Massa and Perez sling mud over 180mph smash
FORMULA One stars Felipe Massa and Sergio Perez traded barbs yesterday as a bitter row erupted over the pair’s high-speed crash in Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix.
Williams driver Massa blamed Force India’s Perez for causing the 180mph shunt with “dangerous” driving, saying: “It’s not the first time he turned into somebody under braking.”
The Mexican hit back at the Brazilian, however, insisting he had lost points “through no fault of our own”. Perez added: “There was plenty of space on the left of my car to attempt a clean overtake, and I cannot understand why he had to scrape by. His misjudgement cost us a big amount of points.”
Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo won in Montreal, from Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg and world champion Sebastian Vettel.
