Marketers’ wages reach £66,106 after bonuses soar 17 per cent
The salaries of marketers rose again last year with the average pay including bonuses hitting £66,106 in 2014, a nine per cent increase and the largest since the recession.
Bonuses rose 17 per cent to an average of £8,118, according to research from marketing recruiter EMR – and 28,540 more marketers were in full time employment in 2014 compared to 2013.
“Marketers have high hopes for 2015 with nearly half expecting an increase in staff numbers and 62 per cent are ‘optimistic’ or ‘extremely optimistic’ about next year’s economic outlook. Over 40 per cent of marketers anticipate moving jobs in the next year,” said EMR managing director Simon Bassett.
Meanwhile over half of marketers, 52 per cent, expect to see the profitability of their business increase this year, up from 43 per cent last year.
EMR’s report also indicates that improving market conditions will increase recruitment in 2015 as marketing teams expand to deal with growing workloads.
