Mapped: How much Londoners shell out for a shorter commute
Many of us go into Zombie-mode first thing and would be keen to get some extra shut eye, but how much do people spend for the pleasure of a shorter commute?
Londoners will pay on average an extra £6.60 a week in rent for every minute shaved off their travel time according to some analysis by TotallyMoney.com. It has put together a Tube map showing the average rent around each station within 0.5km, along with the travel time to the most desirable location on the line.

The map shows the average commuter will have to cough up quite a bit to cut down their journey time. But there are a few picks among the stations.
Commuters can get from Mile End in east London to Oxford Circus in just 16 minutes on the Central line, and will pay an average weekly rent of £215 to do so. But those in Zac Goldsmith's former constituency of Richmond can expect to pay an average weekly rent of £331, though it'll take them 29 minutes to reach South Kensington.
It's also compiled the cheapest places to live that are between five and 40 minutes away from central London and the most expensive station on their respective lines.
