Morden Tube stabbing: Man arrested on suspicion of murder after victim dies at the scene
A man has been arrested after a stabbing outside Morden Tube station during rush hour this morning left another men dead.
Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance all attended the incident, which took place on Kendor Gardens, SW19 shortly after 8am. However the victim, thought to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man was arrested on suspicion of wasting police time and subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody at a south London police station.
Next of kin have not yet been informed, the police said this afternoon. A post-mortem and formal identification will be scheduled "in due course".
Detectives from the homicide and major crime command unit are investigating.
Detective chief inspector Dave Reid said: "The stabbing occurred during the rush hour period and there would have been a number of people in the vicinity making their way to the train station.
"I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the stabbing or the events leading up to the incident to get in contact with us."
